October has been an exceptionally busy month for us, not least because we have been doing all that we can to raise our profile on and around World Mental Health Day which fell on 10 October. Thanks to a team of willing volunteers, we have been able to organise a number of high profile events:
Tapas Trail
We brought back our Tapas Trail and this year it was bigger than ever with eight bars participating all around the Playa Flamenca CC. Visitors enjoyed an afternoon tapas in the Spanish sunshine while supporting our profile raising and fundraising efforts. As well as our very popular tombola, we also had football cards and name the teddy. Golf Adventure Day
Thanks to the generosity of La Manga Adventure Golf, visitors were able to enjoy a fun game of golf while supporting our charity. For every game booked, the organisers donated 5€ to us. As well as the golf, visitors were also able to try their luck at our tombola and treasure map, where cash prizes were awarded!
With a fully licenced bar and restaurant at their disposal, a fantastic time was had by all.
Fashion Show
For the second time this year, Kacey's Bar in Playa Flamenca played host to our fashion show and once again there was a full house. We guess our quality clothes at bargain prices just keep them coming back for more! This time our six fabulous models wore clothes to showcase 'A UK winter visit', 'Date Night' and 'End of Year Celebrations' - the last category showering us with sparkles, glamour and plenty of bling accessories.
Even our President showcased a couple of outfits on the night! The whole evening was compered by Chris Dyson - Presenter for TKO Radio and as usual he did us proud.
Even more exciting, the whole event was filmed by Bargain Loving Brits in Spain and will feature in one of their future episodes.
As is customary at these events, we also held a raffle with some great prizes on offer. This included a very large booze hamper (lucky winners featured below) and a beauty voucher donated by the wonderful team at La Ponderosa, La Zenia - also pictured.
Aside from the extensive awareness generated, from each one of these events, we were able to raise a grand total of 1800€. We would like to say a very special thank you to all the volunteers, participating venues, those that donated prizes and to everyone who came along to any of these events. We wouldn't be able to do what we do without your continued support.
