In Memoriam: Rose Ikhizamah

Our listening community is in mourning today following the tragic loss of our lovely Rose.

Rose was a dedicated listener who had volunteered her time over the course of five years, actively listening and supporting those in distress.

She was full of kindness, a sense of fun, and a zest for life. She was a valued, well-loved, and respected member of our community.

She loved to play padel tennis and go hiking; a true adventurer.

Sadly, her most recent hiking adventure has been her last. She was climbing Kilimanjaro and successfully reached the summit last Sunday, a goal that she would have been so proud to achieve.

However, on her descent, Rose had breathing difficulties and had to be taken to the hospital, and very sadly died on Monday evening.

To say we are shocked and hurting right now is an understatement. We have suffered a huge and unexpected loss, and everyone at Samaritans in Spain will greatly miss Rose.

At this very sad time, our thoughts are with her family, friends and everyone who knew her. May her spirit shine brightly through the love and memories shared by those touched by her presence.
