Samaritans in Spain attends first Orihuela Pride

The first-ever Pride celebration in Orihuela took place on Saturday, 1 June; Samaritans in Spain volunteers were proud to be part of it.

The festivities started with a lively Parade led by a troupe of dancers in dazzling costumes. The air was filled with music and laughter as the community came together to celebrate. Our volunteers chatted to onlookers and collected donations, and they were received with warm affection—so much so that they generously gave a total of €345.

When the Parade returned to the Emerald Isle, it was brimming with people ready to enjoy a full afternoon and evening of entertainment.  They came with their coloured clothing, flags, banners and face make-up.  Samaritans in Spain were also on hand with our tombola, which proved to be just as popular as ever, with many walking away with prizes.  The total raised from the tombola was an impressive €387.

All in all, we received donations totalling €732 euros, all of which will assist us in keeping our service going and being there for those who need us. Samaritans in Spain would like to thank the organisers for allowing us to participate and each and every individual who donated on the day.
